AND THE VIII JOURNEY is streaming now from the Charlottesville Ballet
Join the Charlottesville Ballet for the world premiere of Keith Lee’s new play And the VIII Journeyed, presented at the historic Academy Center of the Arts in Lynchburg.
The event will include a screening of the Ballet’s mini-documentary celebrating Keith and his 50-plus-year career in the arts, and the live event will include a panel discussion with personalities from the documentary.

Keith Lee – Award-winning Artist, Resident Choreographer and Director of Diversity and Inclusion – is a master teacher and choreographer from the Bronx, New York, where he trained at the High School of Performing Arts in New York. In 1969, Mr. Lee joined the American Ballet Theater and was promoted to soloist the following year. He then continued his career at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater as a ballet master. He has choreographed works for the American Ballet Theater, Washington Ballet, Geneva Ballet, Oakland Ballet, Garden State Ballet, Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble, Lexington Ballet, and Charlottesville Ballet. Mr. Lee now resides in Central Virginia and continues to work as a freelance choreographer, teacher, and performing arts coordinator. Mr. Lee is excited to expand his role as Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the Charlottesville Ballet.
