Have you ever been assaulted by a bus driver? Lola Okurin shares her experience – Gistmaster
Inside Danfo tonight in Ketu a guy refused to pay so the driver took off his two palm slippers in a fight. The guy kept hanging out with the driver he wouldn’t pay. Because of the noise, I told the driver to withdraw 200 naira from my 300 naira change.
with him. He has answered “egbon e ma worried, eleyi ma sanwo mi ki o to bole ni Ketu yi seh, aijebe, ko ni gba bata e” pick up his palm slippers). So I didn’t bother. I kept silent watching them.
Suddenly the guy removed his slippers from the driver’s hand and jumped to the ground. The conductor ran after him shouting “Oloriibu wa sanwo mi jor†(ibu conductor, come pay my money jor).
After still dragging on the ground, he finally let go and then got on the bus to continue …
the journey to mile 12.
I asked for my change and this guy gave me 100 naira.
I said “kileleyi” (what is it?), He replied “shebi eyin le sope kin yo owo bobo yen leekan” (it wasn’t you who said I should withdraw the money of this type your change the other time?)…
Bobo, this offer expired immediately you said I shouldn’t worry. Give me my 300. That’s how we started hanging out again until we hit mile 12. He gave me my 300, I got off but suddenly I heard twai on my cheek and it was this driver who gave me a loud slap in the face as the bus passed.
