Swedish opera fires alleged serial abuser – Slipped DiscSlipped Disc
The Malmo Opera House fired its controversial Danish director Michael Bojesen this morning.
Bojesen, 61, had faced allegations of sexual plague in his former positions with the Danish Radio Girls’ Choir and other organisations.
He confirmed the dismissal on Facebook:
I have just been fired from the Malmö Opera. It has been 5 amazing years and I am proud of the accomplishments I have achieved with the most skilled and dedicated employees in the world. Many thanks for the good cooperation with the board and the great support. Thank you to my management team who have been hardworking, loyal and talented, and thank you to all the incredible employees who have shown very special strength, especially during the coronavirus crisis, to show the world that the arts of stage and musical drama are vital. thin and important.
I have never known a better workplace where everyone takes responsibility for a good work environment every day and shows mutual respect.
The bosses leave, but the Malmø Opera remains!
I will now devote myself to the family which, for a year and a half, has been going through a nightmare of the greatest dimensions.
