Variety marks November at Thrasher Opera House | New

Green Lake’s historic Thrasher Opera House will be busy in November as it plans to host a variety of performances from different genres.

“It’s been very exciting here lately,” said Rachael Avery, Executive Director of Thrasher. “Our October shows were everything we hoped they would be – and more. You can be sure these November shows won’t disappoint you either. The energy in this place is at an all time high, so don’t miss this opportunity.

Thrasher kicks off the month with Peter Rowan’s Free Mexican Airforce featuring Los Texmaniacs on Friday, November 5th. Rowan is a Grammy Award-winning bluegrass singer-songwriter with a career spanning more than five decades. Grammy-winning group Los Texmaniacs in this take on rock band Free Mexican Airforce joins him. Tickets cost $ 30.

“It’s Peter Rowan” hip “- and the evening will feature some of his most beloved songs -” Come Back to Old Santa Fe “,” Ride the Wild Mustang “,” Midnight Moonlight “and, of course,” Free Mexican Airforce, ”Thrasher said in a press release.

Jackie Venson’s concert, previously scheduled for Saturday, November 6, has been canceled due to a scheduling conflict. Judy Collins will be back at Thrasher on Thursday, November 11, but the concert is now sold out.

Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist Darrell Scott arrives on stage Friday, November 12. Scott has produced songs recorded by over 70 artists including Dixie Chicks, Keb Mo, Faith Hill, Guy Clark, Sam Bush, Maura O’Connell, Kathy Mattea, Brad Paisley, Sara Evans, Garth Brooks, Patty Loveless, Trace Adkins, Tim McGraw and many more. Tickets cost $ 30.

Musician Carsie Blanton is set to return to Thrasher on Saturday, November 13 for a show that opera says will encompass a wide range of genres, from sultry pop to punk-flavored Americana. Tickets $ 25.

To round off November, Thrasher will be hosting a family movie night on Saturday, November 27 as part of the “Keep the Cheer Here” weekend event in Green Lake. Thrasher will present the PG-rated film, “Elf” at 5pm. The event is free and open to the public. 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Ric Damm Photography will be present at the family movie night, offering to take photos of individuals or families, for a suggested donation of $ 25. Proceeds will go to the Thrasher Opera House.

“Make it even more fun by dressing in your favorite comfy pajamas and slippers, dressing in your nicest holiday clothes, or whatever the two of the two – the choice is yours,” Thrasher said in a statement.
