Jordan Roberts presents Hearts future as loan winger continues Motherwell’s trajectory
Jordan Roberts dodged questions about his Hearts future by admitting its place in Robbie neilson Premiership plans remain on hold.
The winger put on a virtuoso performance against rivals Hibernian Town for Motherwell in their 2-0 victory at Easter Road earlier this month after a surprise loan in January.
The former Ipswich Town wide player managed just six league appearances for the Jambos in the Championship , but worked hard to maintain consistent form.
However, he improved considerably under the tutelage of Graham Alexander and helped the Steelmen move away from a relegation game at the foot of the Prime Minister table.
Attention turned to his future plans, Roberts was reluctant to go one way or the other as the Jambos looked to maintain their top second tier advantage against Arbroath this weekend.
And he declined to question whether that might lead to a second crack in Neilson’s first team with a year of his contract remaining.

“I take every day and every game as it comes,” Roberts told the Motherwell Hours .
“I want to try to help as much as possible here.

“As a footballer there will always be some obstacles in the way, like you might not be in shape or you might have injuries or not have settled down as well as you thought.
“The opportunity was there for me to come to Motherwell. I was open to it.
“I just wanted to go out there and try as much as possible for the rest of the season, obviously keeping Motherwell in the league and trying to add some numbers to my game.”
He added: “I have another year at Hearts and if I end up there, I end up there. But my main goal is to contribute here and not get distracted and distracted by discussions of transfer if I’m going to be in Hearts or Motherwell.
