The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is bringing the double-o-paradise to Royal & Derngate in Northampton next month
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will return to the Royal & Derngate in Northampton in June, it has been announced.
Two concerts will take place. On Wednesday, June 16, music lovers can enjoy Spotlight on Strings, while on Wednesday, June 23, The Music of Bond will celebrate the legendary movie themes of the 007 films. Both concerts will be performed in front of a socially distant audience.
The strings of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Duncan Riddell, will welcome the audience once again to the Derngate Auditorium with an exquisite 75-minute concert performing a selection of much-loved pieces.

Grieg’s popular Holberg Suite is extremely designed, based on 18th-century dance forms, while Mendelssohn’s String Symphony No.10 displays a touch of his sensitive style. Tchaikovsky’s sublime Serenade for Strings completes the program with the perfect showcase for the luscious sounds of RPO strings.

At The Music of Bond concert, audiences will enjoy iconic themed songs and exciting Bond hymns from over 50 years of box office blockbusters as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra takes them to doubles heaven!
The concert features music by Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice, Thunderball, Diamonds Are Forever, Live And Let Die, From Russia With Love, Skyfall, Goldeneye and Specter to name a few. Led by David Arnold and with acclaimed singer Alison Jiear, the musicians of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will be amplified and joined by a full rhythm section in a sensational concert.
Spotlight on Strings will take place on the Derngate Stage on Wednesday June 16 at 7:30 p.m. and The Music of Bond will take place the following week, Wednesday June 23 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets from £ 18 * will go on sale to theater members from Thursday 6 May, with general sale from Saturday 8 May.
